Enlargement Requires Endurance for Increase

James 1:2-8 – Trials and Temptations

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

When you seek enlargement you will face trials and temptations.

  • Verse 3 – Testing your Faith produces perseverance;
  • Verse 4 Perseverance causes you to mature and become complete as a person, not lacking anything

make things happenWhat is Perseverance?

  1. steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
  2. Theology. continuance in a state of grace to the end, leading to eternal salvation.

  • Verse 5 If you lack something, this is where you ask God for wisdom and He will provide it to you. You have not if you ask not (James 4:1-3)

  • Verses 6-8 – When you ask you must believe and not doubt
    • If you doubt, you will not receive anything from the Lord
    • Such a person is classified as a double-minded man unstable in all that they do
      • They are neither here nor there;
      • You can consider such a person to be a lukewarm individual. They are neither hot or cold and worthy of being spat out (Revelations 3:16).

focus-on-your-goalIf we seek Increase and Enlargement we must be groomed for it.

Look at Joseph in the Bible. He was a slave, a servant, a prisoner and then eventually after all those trials and tests he endured, he eventually became a prime minister (2nd in command) in all of Egypt under Pharaoh. He was groomed through those tests and trials and endured humiliation, temptation, disappointment and discouragement that could have made him lose focus off of his dream, that he would one day rule over his family.

You will require – Integrity, Wisdom, Maturity in Faith and application of your faith through Action.

You must understand that Faith requires you to listen, and then do what you hear.

 Romans 10:17

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

df97a7852398fe9ae1ff346a811f53bcJames 1:19 – 25 – Listening and Doing

19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

  • Verse 19 – Be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger – A person who lacks self-control is unable to listen nor take advice, is argumentative, unwilling to obey instruction and therefore becomes unteachable. This verse highlights how pride can get in the way of doing what you have heard and been instructed to do, not on just a biblical basis, but also on practical basis with what you do in your everyday life.
  • Verse 20 – anger does not produce a right attitude that the Lord wants us to have
  • Verse 21 – get rid of the arrogance in order to obtain the promises of God that is contained in His Word which should be planted in you if you believe. What you ultimately believe in, is what you end up becoming.
  • Verse 22 – do not be just a listener of instructions, do what you have been told to do. You must apply what you learn and put your faith into action.

Example: It’s like learning how to swim, you can be told verbally what to do in the water, but simply hearing the instructions and then not applying those instructions into action are of no effect for you if you don’t get into the water to practice what you have been taught to do.

Those that practice doing what they hear (or have been instructed to do), will eventually become experts in what they repeatedly do and elevate to new levels from being just a beginner to a professional standard. This is how God wants us to apply our Faith in life. You may be a beginner at first, but you can only increase when you continue doing something repeatedly by practicing your faith and putting it into action.

  • Focus ConceptVerses 23 – 24 – If you do not put the instructions given to you into practice, you will forget and will therefore become useless and undependable to anyone’s standard. No one wants to waste time with someone who cannot follow basic instructions. Laziness is a vice to your quest for increase.
  • Verse 25 – Those that act on and obey instructions will be rewarded in all that they do. Any teacher enjoys a student dutifully practicing what they have learned in the classroom and attempting to apply what they have learned into action. Those that practice continuously on the basis of that instruction will be able to move to new levels and new heights.

Yes, you will face adversity from others who will be jealous of where you are going, but the first hurdle of adversity that you must conquer is yourself.

No one can make you act on faith. No one can force you to listen to basic instructions, no one can cause you to move and apply what you have learned into action. These things are non-transferable responsibilities. If you cannot change your pattern of behavior and thinking to match what it says in God’s Word, you will not go anywhere if you yield to the temptation of laziness.

The just shall live by faith, however, the slothful shall die by inaction.

Therefore, choose life, and life more abundant if you want to get to the next level.

John 10:10

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Focus on what’s in front of you rather than dwelling on what is irrelevant and behind you.

45e84cbcf7c40a80e0dcb61a63403c08Philippians 3:11-13 (NKJV)

11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Pressing Toward the Goal

12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

You cannot move forward if you have the old-mindset. Think big, focus ahead, move forward towards the goal. Do not allow yourself to get distracted from what is happening around you. Be like Joseph who focused on his dream. Be determined and remain focused. You can achieve great things when you have God by your side. Remember what the Bible says about you. When you are weak, focus on the Word that tells you “you are strong”.

Ephesians 6:10

[ The Whole Armor of God ] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

The Cost of Enlargement

You will have people that will fight you.

Isaiah 54:2-3 – “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings. Do not spare; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes;

Stop thinking Small. Get away from the small-minded mentality.

Proverbs 23:7 – For as He thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.

Don’t think small. If you want be a millionaire you have to think like a millionaire. You cannot think small in order to achieve greatness. Think big and represent yourself in a large way.

As you think, so you will become. You will take bigger risks if you think big.

Those that purpose enlargement in their lives, they do not think small.

Some people may think you are arrogant for thinking big, but you are just confident about where you are going.

Stop thinking small! Just because the people around you think small, doesn’t mean you have to think the same way as well.

1 Chronicles 4:10 – And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

tumblr_lxh1nbPzfS1r0j9r8o1_500.gifDon’t think Small, Don’t box your mind, don’t box God. Become unlimited. Be a barrier breaker rather than a caged person.

A person who can’t see where you’re going will have issues with you. Don’t let them stop you from pursuing greatness.

Relationships matter when you want to enlarge. Don’t surround yourself with small minded people.

1 Corinthians 15:33 – Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

If you have negative people around you, sooner or later you will exhibit the same bad tendencies.

You will be stretched, but you should not quit. You will defy the odds of wanting to quit.

Poverty creeps in when your sleeping, slothful and lazy.

…Lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes – this is all about your foundation.

You have to have a strong foundation. Solidify yourself, so that in times of crisis you will stand strong. When a tent is not staked deep into the ground, it can be blown away by a strong wind.

As a believer you need to strengthen your stakes so that you will not be shaken. Anchor yourself to the the Word of God as your foundation.

Psalm 11:3 If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?

Strengthen your foundation.  It’s the foundation that carries you, you don’t carry the foundation.

Your Foundation is found in Christ Jesus.

Enlargement is a Command to Multiply the Seed Given by the Supplier

Isaiah 54:2 – “Enlarge the place of your tent,
And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings;
Do not spare;
Lengthen your cords,
And strengthen your stakes.

If you want increase in your life, you have to allow yourself to stretch out like a tent and be challenged to stand your ground with the Word of God as your foundation.

Genesis 1: 27-31

27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.

  • God commands man to multiply meaning we have everything we need inside of us to increase and grow.
  • God creates the environment for increase by providing you the ingredients that have a multiplication ability through the power of the Seed.
  • When God wants to increase you, He creates an environment that promotes:
    • enlargement,
    • Increase, and
    • Multiplication

meaning that you can double the outcome with the effort you place in applying your faith to increase in any area of your life.

Matthew 25: 14- 30 (NIV)

The Parable of the Bags of Gold (aka The Parable of the Talents)

In the NKJV vs. 14 says… “For the kingdom of heaven is like….

14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,[a] each according to his ability. Then he went talents-600.jpgon his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’

21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’

23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

What do you learn from this parable?

  • The master is the one who supplied the servants with what they needed to increase. This is exactly like what God did for Adam and Eve in Genesis 1.
  • 2 of them obeyed the command from their master who was also their supplier of that increase and put their faith into action and achieved double for their work since faith comes with works.0c55d70b1d30164516901120e5a32265
  • Faith comes by hearing, and then doing what you hear.
  • The reward for obedience is that for those that multiplied what they were given shared in the masters increase (meaning they were able to keep what they had multiplied and not only that, they were elevated to a new level of responsibility meaning that they achieved promotion).
  • Why did they achieve promotion?
  • They were trusted with a small task to increase what they were given, and then they achieved a double outcome, they were promoted to new ranks.
  • Enlargement comes when you obey the command to multiply what you are given.
  • If you do nothing with the task that is given to you, you will remain either stagnant or you will not only be demoted, you will lose every area of responsibility and be fired without a job to do. That is why the Bible warns those who are lazy that the very little that they have will be taken away from them if they do not obey the command to put their faith into action to increase what they are given.

Have you ever been at work and seen your boss give you a project to do with a team and only a few members of that team produce results with the task given while others do nothing assuming that they can just take credit for work they did not even put any effort to do. In the business world, that is unacceptable and it is the same with God. God rewards those that put their faith to work rather than remain lazy and still expecting a reward for doing absolutely nothing.

  • Why is this so important to understand? In all your getting you must get understanding.

Deuteronomy 8:1-3 (NKJV)

Remember the Lord Your God

“Every commandment which I command you today you must be careful to observe, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers. And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.

The command to multiply means that there is an obedience factor. The instructions you are willing to obey will determine the miracle you are willing to receive.

  • God will give you a command to multiply what He gives you.
  • God will test your obedience and your willingness to put your faith at work
  • Those that obey what they hear receive a reward
  • That reward comes from obeying God’s Word.
  • Those that live by the Word prosper
  • God assess us by our hearts and what we think in our hearts is what we end up becoming.
  • If we believe that there is no need to work our faith like the disobedient servant that buried the talents/bags of gold, we will deserve nothing.

Those that do nothing, deserve nothing.

Those that sow nothing, get nothing,

Those that disobey instruction, reap corruption;

and that is why there will be a gnashing of teeth and a great weeping.

James 2:14-17

Faith Without Works Is Dead

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

church-sermon-give-13-638.jpg

If you want to enlargement:

  • you need to work with what you’ve got.
  • Do not be jealous of your brother or sister that have 5 talents, 2 talents or even one Talent. You have something that God gave you, so work with the abilities that God has given you to increase.
  • Every measure that ever person has, has the ability to double if you just believe.
  • God (Who is the supplier) gives people according to their abilities and what you do with the little He provides you with will determine whether you will receive double the favour in your life.
  • Remember, if you do nothing you receive nothing. But if you apply faith with the little that you’ve got, you will receive double for your trouble. Faith is the key.

Anointing for Elevation Pt. 2

“The anointing is what you need to run your life. If you do not have the anointing, you will live a life of struggle.” – Pastor Austyn

  • anointed2As a believer you need to live with the anointing.
  • The Anointing locates you.
  • The anointing doesn’t not care what land you are in. It is there to bless you.
  • The anointing brings increase.
  • The anointing is what distinguishes you.
  • It hits your mind, body and spirit.
  • It guides you in everything that you do and people will do you good.
  • The anointing changes you and your mind is renewed by the anointing.

Romans 12:2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

You must be in a relationship with God in order to engage the anointing.

The anointing is an oil that’s on the presence in the life of that believer that establishes the kingdom of God.

Do not be ashamed of the gospel. The anointing comes in various degrees.

What is the Anointing?

Anointing means to put oil or dedicate to the service of God.

The Greek word Khristos for Christ means “anointed one”.

Psalm 92:10 – But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil.

Mark 9:23 – Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Do not declare the negative from your mouth. The moment you speak, you create life in those words. Order your conversations right. If you speak that you will live in abundance, you will call into being what it is that you have declared.

God is indispensable and you need Him in order to flow in the Anointing.

The anointing wants to bless you, increase you and advance you.

People have many misplaced priorities but you have to put God first.

Whenever you face pressure, God will turn it into favour.

You have to believe God and the anointing is what causes Him to come on time for you when you relate to Him.

Whatever you are facing right now, you will see an anointing for you to change and relocate you, trace you, translate you and cause you to overcome.

The Anointing takes you from being a nobody to a somebody just like David.

Anointing requires responsibility.

“God rebrands you through the anointing. God is a God of relationship.  What you have gone through with God will determine what access is granted in your life. Anointing comes in stages.” – Pastor Austyn

Psalm 23:5 – You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

Isaiah 1:19 – If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;

The instructions you are willing to obey will determine the miracle that you will received.

003-elijah-widow300x2251 Kings 17:9-15 – “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” 10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, indeed a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a cup, that I may drink.” 11 And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”

12 So she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

010-elijah-widow300x22513 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’”

15 So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days.

The anointing is not interested in your today. It is interested in your tomorrow. The God of Tomorrow showed up for the woman in Zaraphath.

If God showed up for her, what more is He willing to do for you?

The Anointing protects and sustains you in your destiny.

Here is a song by William McDowell feat. Blanca from Group 1 Crew called Closer/Wrap Me in Your Arms . May this song bless your spirit today.

The Anointing for Breakthrough Started with Jesus – by Minister Sherline

The Power of the Anointing for Breakthrough is already in you. The word “Christ” (in Greek khristos) means “the Anointed One”. If you have Christ in you the hope of glory that means that the anointing is already in you through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The question is, is it operating inside of you?

Are you tapping into what is already inside of you if you are a believer?

The Anointing God Puts on you cannot be taken away, it is generational

Exodus 40:15

You shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may minister to Me as priests; for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.”

Jesus-teaching

The Anointing for breakthrough started with Jesus.

Jesus had first fasted for 40 days in the desert while being challenged by Satan before releasing this Word found in Luke 4.

Luke 4:16-30 – Jesus Rejected at Nazareth

16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,[j
]
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”[k]

20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him.21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” 22 So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, “Is this not Joseph’s son?”

23 He said to them, “You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done in Capernaum,[l] do also here in Your country.’” 24 Then He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country. 25 But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; 26 but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath,[m] in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. 27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”

28 So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, 29 and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff. 30 Then passing through the midst of them, He went His way.

The Anointing on Jesus is the same anointing we need to tap into as Christians in order to operate in a realm of perpetual breakthroughs.

First the anointing Jesus speaks of comes from the Holy Spirit (Verse 18). The Holy Spirit provides the power that backs the anointing for you to be able to do the following:

  1. To preach the gospel to the poor: It brings good news to the Poor (poverty in spirit, poverty in finance, poverty in relationship, in fact all areas of Poverty).

  1. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted: It has the power to heal what was broken in your heart because everything you do in your life is a reflection of what is in your heart. Out of the abundance of the heart your mouth speaks.

  1. To proclaim liberty to the captives:  It breaks bondages to those bound to sin in any area (spiritually and physically). Because the Holy Spirit provides the power that backs the anointing, you need to understand that you need to tap into the spiritual realm to move what cannot be moved in the natural realm. This can be done by prayer and fasting and meditating on God’s Word. Every breakthrough you require for God to intervene is only found through the power of the Holy Spirit. If you don’t tap into the Spirit, you will operate in a realm of mediocrity as you strive by might and power. Learn to humble yourself and go before God to whom is your source of breakthrough.

  1. And recovery of sight to the blind, – Jesus doesn’t just restore physical vision, he restores your spiritual sight to see into the spirit, He restores your vision so that you are able to see yourself in the way that God sees you and He also restores the overall vision you require in order for you to be successful in your life.  In order to be successful, you require Revelation.

What is Revelation? The dictionary defines it as:

  1. the act of revealing or disclosing; disclosure.
  2. something revealed or disclosed, especially a striking disclosure, as of something not before realized.
  3. Theology.

God’s disclosure of Himself and His will to His creatures.

an instance of such communication or disclosure.

something thus communicated or disclosed.

something that contains such disclosure, as the Bible.

In the KJV it says in Proverbs 29:18: 18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

The NKJV version says: Where there is no revelation the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law.

Vision brings you revelation, however, you are required to keep the law which is contained in God’s word; meaning that you must follow God’s Word. It is not enough to be a hearer of it when you don’t do what it says. You don’t want to be a Revelation Short of a Breakthrough.

Vision allows you to see what you couldn’t see before and it brings about direction towards your elevation.

When God gives you a revelation, he reveals to you what was hidden so that you are guided in the right direction.

You need Revelation for ELEVATION.

How can you follow the Lord’s direction when you cannot see?

That is why it is important to meditate on God’s Word so that you are provided clear direction as to where you ought to go, rather than follow another man’s revelation of where they think you should go. You have to learn to see God by following His Word. That’s why there is emphasis to meditate on His Word day and night so that it does not depart from your mouth. The more you meditate, the more you can see clearly and hear clearly. If you don’t meditate on His Word, you will follow a false direction and will end up misguided into the wrong direction and that is why God’s people keep perishing, because they don’t keep God’s word. They don’t meditate on it and therefore, they run in the dark and find themselves lost and directionless. It is important to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus if you want to maintain the vision that He has for your life which is in:

Jeremiah 29:11 – 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

  1. To set at liberty those who are oppressed; The anointing is so powerful that it gives you the ability to deliver people from oppression whether it is demonically inspired (demonization) or legally inspired (through the laws of men) to oppress people into slavery/torture of different sorts (i.e. human trafficking/ war etc). God has given us authority to challenge and defeat the oppressors in order to set captives free.

  1. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” The anointing also prophesies what the Lord will do in every year. When you proclaim, you are declaring what it is that you want to see. The anointing gives you the power to call forth those things that be not as though they were. You can call your breakthroughs into being by proclaiming by faith what it is that you want to see happen in your year. The thing is, whatever you proclaim requires you to partner with the Holy Spirit in order so see your breakthrough.

Romans 4:17As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

The Power of the Anointing:

  • Confounds the wise and the mighty (Luke 4:22). People will not know why God has put such an anointing on your life but God is willing to use a willing vessel to do great and mighty works. Look at David as an example.

1 Corinthians 1:27 (NKJV) 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

  • The Anointing locates the least likely for increase (Luke 4:25-26). There were many widows in Israel and yet the prophet Elijah during the time of the great famine that lasted 3 years 6 months visited the widow who fed him the last morsel she had for herself and her son. The oil in her pots brought increase in a time of famine.

1 Kings 17:8-16 Elijah and the Widow

Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” 10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, indeed a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a cup, that I may drink.” 11 And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”

eikon_1132_12 So she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’”

15 So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days. 16 The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.

  • The Anointing does not discriminate, it locates willing vessels to receive breakthrough (Luke 4:27). The same applies to Naaman in 2 Kings 5: 1-19 who was a great and honorable Commander who the Lord had given him victory to the Syrian army that he served as commander was also struck by leprosy. However when he listened to the prophet Elisha from the enemies camp (the Children of Israel) he was healed. It just goes to show that the anointing can even heal the least likely to believe in the God you serve.

 2 Kings 5: 1-19 – Naaman’s Leprosy Healed

Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper. And the Syrians had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She waited on Naaman’s wife. Then she said to her mistress, “If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy.” And Naaman went in and told his master, saying, “Thus and thus said the girl who is from the land of Israel.”

Then the king of Syria said, “Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.”

So he departed and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothing. Then he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which said,

Now be advised, when this letter comes to you, that I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy.

And it happened, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God, to kill and make alive, that this man sends a man to me to heal him of his leprosy? Therefore please consider, and see how he seeks a quarrel with me.”

So it was, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Please let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.”

Then Naaman went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha’s house. 10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.” 11 But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, “Indeed, I said to myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.’ 12 Are not the Abanah[a] and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage. 13 And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” 14 So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

eikon_1142_15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, “Indeed, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel; now therefore, please take a gift from your servant.”

16 But he said, “As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will receive nothing.” And he urged him to take it, but he refused.

17 So Naaman said, “Then, if not, please let your servant be given two mule-loads of earth; for your servant will no longer offer either burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but to the Lord. 18 Yet in this thing may the Lord pardon your servant: when my master goes into the temple of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow down in the temple of Rimmon—when I bow down in the temple of Rimmon, may the Lord please pardon your servant in this thing.”

19 Then he said to him, “Go in peace.” So he departed from him a short distance.

  • The Anointing Offends those that do not practice the Truth (Luke 4:28) People will not like the fact that the anointing in your life reveals their own weaknesses and will stir up jealousy, hatred, and people will want to attack you but the anointing will still preserve you.

Jesus kept emphasizing in the synagogue that a prophet is not accepted in their own country and was calling that out on the Jews. Elijah and Elisha were such prophets and they kept giving instructions to willing vessels to receive blessings who were foreigners. In the Bible, you will find the frustration of the Lord in the book of Isaiah who keeps saying “Oh Jerusalem, how I have sent you many prophets and you did not receive them” and they kept killing them, dismissing them and not hearing them because they would not accept the instruction that the Lord had to give to them to guide them back in the right direction. The blessing of the anointing was no longer reserved just for the Jews, it was also for the Gentiles (non-believers). That’s why Jesus states that He was going to pour out all His Spirit on all flesh. You no longer needed to be a Jew to receive the anointing and this reality and truth heavily offended those in the Synagogue.

The anointing gives direction to willing vessels and it does not discriminate. This is why a Muslim or any non-believer for that matter can come to church and receive the Word and act on it (being a doer of what they hear) and receive the reward that a Christian sitting in the same room would miss. The Anointing searches willing vessels that are ready to obey the Lords instruction in order to receive the blessing that they seek. This is why the people wanted to murder Jesus upon hearing all this. They were not ready for the Truth and wanted to kill him by pushing Jesus off a cliff, but they were unable to because the Anointing protects your destiny. That’s how powerful it truly is and this is the same anointing that is in all believers that have been baptized receiving the same power through the Holy Spirit.
