In order to enlarge your territory, you must increase in knowledge of the Word, increase in wisdom and humility. If you can’t do these three simple things, you will not be able to grow. In order to grow, you need to first learn how to hear from God and not only just hear from him, but do as He says with the Word as your foundation. You cannot follow someone You do not know. Therefore, how can you follow God if you don’t know His voice?
There are some of you that may say, I don’t know how to hear from Him. I don’t know His voice.
Why is that?
The truth is, Knowing God’s voice isn’t really as mysterious as it seems to be. You can hear from God clearly when you have the Holy Spirit residing inside of you. Why do you think God seeks for all of us to prophesy? It’s because in order to prophesy, you need to distinguish and learn to Hear and obey His Voice. In order to hear, you are forced to humble yourself before God in order to hear Him by meditating on His Word (the Bible). Everyone has the ability to Hear from God, but how many are willing to Obey His voice when it comes down to it?
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’
How many of you know the song Thriller, Heal the World, Beat It? Who sang it? How did you know that? You have to have meditated and listened to that song multiple times to know the words, to know who sang it and so that when you hear others singing it, you can identify immediately that Michael Jackson sang that song. In the same way, that’s how it is with God. When you read His Word, you are able to rightly divide the Word of Truth. You can tell when someone is using the word out of context because you know exactly what it says. You can tell when a word speaks to you because the Holy Spirit bears witness to the truth of God’s word. If you want to be successful, you must work on your hearing and your obedience to do what you hear.
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways.
Princes also sit and speak against me, But Your servant meditates on Your statutes.
You can only repeat what you meditate on.
The definition of meditation is:
to engage in thought or contemplation; reflect.
When you meditate on the Name of the Lord you will be remembered.
[ A Book of Remembrance ] Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name.
1 Timothy 4:12-16 (NKJV)
Take Heed to Your Ministry
12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit,[b] in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
4 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
The Church must be in Unity in order to overcome adversities that any brother or sister faces. You cannot groom leaders in a church if people do not know the Word of God. Every believer is called to minister in one form or another but the requirement is that you must know God’s Word.
UNITY in One Mind, One Spirit, One Cause
[ Striving and Suffering for Christ ] Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,
The power of the Praying church assembling as one, in one accord can break barriers, limitations, bring restoration, healing and deliverance and many blessings pour down from Heaven because of the unity found in the Church. A church that prays in unity prevents attacks from the enemy from succeeding and brings about uncommon victories.
Peter Freed from Prison
5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant[a] prayer was offered to God for him by the church. 6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. 7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. 8 Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” 9 So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
11 And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”
12 So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying. 13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a girl named Rhoda came to answer. 14 When she recognized Peter’s voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate. 15 But they said to her, “You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, “It is his angel.”
16 Now Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished. 17 But motioning to them with his hand to keep silent, he declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, “Go, tell these things to James and to the brethren.” And he departed and went to another place.
18 Then, as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers about what had become of Peter. 19 But when Herod had searched for him and not found him, he examined the guards and commanded that they should be put to death.
And he went down from Judea to Caesarea, and stayed there.
If we want to increase, then we must first understand that enlargement starts with us. You need to equip yourself with the knowledge of the Word by meditating on it for yourself, rather than wait for a Sunday service to arrive to get fed. God is not in the business of pampering you with the word, He expects you to feed yourself with the Word and get stronger with other members growing in the Word. It is not enough to be hearer and not a doer of what you hear. You cannot follow what you do not know, so therefore, seek to grow by equipping yourself with the Word and learn to recognize and know God’s voice. You can only become his sheep when you recognize the Shepherd’s voice.
Are you ready for enlargement?
